Cape Town – Award-winning actress Terry Pheto is the latest celebrity to voice her disapproval about Cape Town moving to level 3 lockdown.
This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Sunday that the Western Cape would also be moving to level 3 with the rest of the country. Cape Town, among other metropolitan municipalities, was declared a Covid-19 hotspot.
“Cape Town must thank the whole country right now. They don’t deserve level 3,” said Terry.
Fellow actress, Rami Chuene, seemed to share the same views and she added: “They’ve been very annoying”.
However, DA MP Phumzile van Damme wasn’t too pleased by Pheto’s tweet.
“All of Cape Town? Everyone? The geographic location or the people? So by implication all those who are ill, lost their lives are just selfish and deserve what is happening to them?”
Van Damme replied that Pheto’s comments were “flippant” and “insensitive” when it was suggested that Pheto’s comments were not that deep.
