Head of the Anglican Diocese of Pretoria, Bishop Allan Kannemeyer, said the church would remain closed until a time when the situation with the coronavirus pandemic is better.

Pastor Mosa Sono of the Grace Bible Church said their approach would be gradual as the safety of congregants came first.

“We have to make sure our premises are deep cleansed, our people properly equipped to serve and have an operational plan on sanitising, screening and keeping records of those attending services.”

International evangelist Bishop T.D. Jakes has opted to keep his church, The Potter’s House, closed during lockdown to curb the spread of cornavirus.

South African evangelists are not the only ones that have opted to keep the doors of their churches closed during lockdown.

The Potter’s House leader Bishop T.D. Jakes has opted to have his doors closed, saying the church and its staff will actively monitor the Covid-19 developments as it relates to the health and well-being of their members and community.
