Residents in eThekwini warned of possible water interruptions

South Africa

Durban – Residents in eThekwini have been warned of water interruptions in parts of the city following a major leak at the Shallcross reservoir.

The municipality projects that the repairs will take up to a week, with the water supply only likely to be fully restored on Friday.

The municipality’s Water and Sanitation head Ednick Msweli said they have a big job ahead of them.

Meanwhile, residents in Johannesburg will also need to fill up their buckets and containers because the city will be experiencing water cuts from Wednesday.

Johannesburg Water said it’s doing this to tie in new pipelines to existing manliness.
