Fitch revises outlook on SA to ‘stable’

Johannesburg – Credit ratings agency Fitch has revised the country’s outlook from ‘negative’ to ‘stable’.

The agency cites a faster-than-expected economic recovery.

In a statement, government said it ‘notes’ the decision.

And that Treasury will continue to demonstrate its commitment to fiscal sustainability by addressing the massive budget deficit and the country’s debt burden.

Higher than expected tax revenue, will be used fort his purpose.

Fitch predicts GDP will return to pre-pandemic levels in the course of 2022.
