Another soldier arrested for cross-border vehicle smuggling

Musina – Another SANDF member has been arrested for alleged cross-border vehicle smuggling.

The 30-year-old was arrested in the Northern Cape and is set to appear in court on Thursday.

He’s the eight SANDF member to be arrested in this syndicate.

The others were arrested in June during a sting operation between the Hawks and the National Intervention Unit.

They are said to have been smuggling vehicles through the Limpopo river in exchange for money.

The soldiers are accused of allegedly demanding R15,000 a vehicle then split it among themselves.

They are all out on bail.
