The state capture inquiry resumes on Friday with senior Treasury officials expected to testify.
National Treasury insiders say the department had been under attack in 2015. Director-General Dondo Mogajane and communication director Phumza Macanda will take the stand.
This comes after a testimony by former Director-General Lungisa Fuzile. Fuzile has revealed events around the appointment of former Finance Minister Des van Rooyen that almost pushed South Africa to the brink.
After speaking to Mcebisi Jonas, Fuzile said : State captors wanted a pliable finance minister. On Monday, the commission will hear from former GCIS CEO Mzwanele Manyi.
Manyi made shocking claims against former acting CEO Phumla Williams. He told the Zondo commission earlier there were a lot of irregularities under Williams’ leadership.
