Johannesburg – Police Minister Bheki Cele will release the annual crime statistics on Friday.
They will reflect crimes committed from April 2019 to March, this year.
Speaking to media earlier this week, Cele said cash-in-transit heists, bank and house robberies have decreased.
But he admitted that the country’s crime statistics are not a reflection of how ordinary South Africa feel. During the last financial year, violent crimes including murder, rape and robbery increased.
The murder rate increased by 3.4%, while rape increased by 3.9%
