Johannesburg – Covid-19 vaccinations open for 17 to 19-year-old from October 20.
According to Minister of Health, Joe Phaahla, sites are ready to administer vaccines to this age group.

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved for this age group and only one dose will be given for now.
The health ministry has reiterated that teenagers will not be vaccinated at schools. They will be able to go to vaccination sites.

From October 20, 12-17-year-olds will be able to register for their vaccination. Acting DG of Health said the Child Act says you don’t need consent from parents if you are 12-17.
