DA tables vote of no confidence against Ramaphosa’s Cabinet

South Africa

Johannesburg – DA leader John Steenhuisen said Parliament should hold Cabinet accountable.

The party tabled a motion of no confidence in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s entire Cabinet.

Steenhuisen said the president’s decision to bring in outsiders to help is an indication he doesn’t have confidence in his ministers.

During his State of the Nation address last week, Ramaphosa said the State needed to create an environment the private sector can invest in and kickstart the economy.

Members of Parliament gathered in the Cape Town City Hall on Monday to debate the president’s take on the country’s priorities.
