Drama is reported to have unfolded due to the global Citizens Concert. Music lovers have taken to Twitter to express their disgust at Uber following the drama that unfolded after the Global Citizen Festival.
Numerous people were left stranded as the Uber app and website crashed, while some Uber drivers hiked up the prices of trips up to R1000. Others claim that their Uber drivers’ cancelled their trips.
Tonight was both the best and worst night of my life. The best because I got to see Beyoncé and Jay Z live (& Ed Sheeran). The worst because this happened:

When we existed #FNBstadium people were saying 'be carful, they are stealing phones and bags' so we held onto our bags & the girls held onto my shirt & walked towards the uber drop of zone. After 2kms we got there and I found my family. This is when things went BAD

To everyone who was at Sasol and had to go through that awful experience after the concert, uxolo!
Once again, this is a reminder of reality for many & unfortunately law enforcement was toothless.

I genuinely wanna thank some guy called Luciano 😭 he’s an Uber driver, we were walking from the stadium towards sasol and he literally told us to get in or we’ll get mugged on the way. He drove us a good 3km for absolutely no cost just to get us to where a crowd was
