Johannesburg – Judgment on the bail appeal by former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi will be delivered on Friday.
Agrizzi’s lawyer Mannie Witz said his client’s poor health should be considered.
Witz said Agrizzi is chained to his bed at a private and heavily guarded outside his ICU room, passage and car park.
He told the court that life will be easier for his client if he was released on bail because of his deteriorating medical condition.
Agrizzi was denied bail in the Commercial Crimes Court two weeks ago.
After spending a night in prison he was rushed to the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital after struggling to breathe.
He has since been moved to an undisclosed private hospital.
Agrizzi is facing fraud and corruption charges.
Prosecutor Arno Rossouw said Agrizzi and his wife Deborah have about R30-million in cash stashed outside the country.
