Kaizer Chiefs to extend stay of goalkeeper, but it’s not Itumeleng Khune

Johannesburg – Kaizer Chiefs are moving swiftly to tie down – and release – a number of their players.

The next player set to extend his stay at Naturena looks to be goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma.

Bvuma was named coach in Gavin Hunt’s 18-man squad for Tuesday’s CAF Champions League match against Petro de Luanda in the absence of regular shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune.

Bvuma’s current deal is set to expire in June, but all indications are that he will get a new deal which will be finalized in the near future.

“He is staying. We are in talks with them,” his representative Jazzman Mahlakgane said.

Bvuma is yet to make an appearance for Chiefs this season, but at age 25, he still has a chance to stake his claim to being the Amakhosi’s first-choice keeper.
