Madonsela: Prasa can still be restored

Johannesburg – The embattled Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) can still be restored.

That is according to former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

Madonsela has welcomed the Zondo Commission’s fifth and final report on Prasa, saying the truth has come to light.

The report revealed that the rail agency’s rot runs deeper than it could uncover and recommends a special inquiry.

“I’m saddened, of course, by the revelation but at the same time encouraged that we now know a little bit more than we did then.”

“We will soon know the full truth, there will be justice,” Madonsela said.

“It’s extremely important that Prasa gets back on track…it will get back…Mr Montana, Mr Mthimkulu who was masquerading as a doctor – are out of the system now, they need just to look at what’s wrong with the system, how we do structure or reboot the system to make sure that things go right.”
