Man of the match panel FINALLY got it right: Gavin Hunt

Johannesburg -Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt says the man of the match panel finally got it right after his side ended Mamelodi Sundowns’ unbeaten streak in this season’s DStv Premiership on Sunday.

Chiefs got back to winning after rallying from a 1-0 half-time deficit to defeat the Brazilians 2-1 at their Loftus Versfeld home.

Hunt has often disagreed with the man of the match panel this season, but felt they got it right – at last- by naming Njabulo Blom as the standout player.

“Finally, you guys got it right. It’s because William Shogwe wasn’t here. So, he got it right. Blom was fantastic,” Gavin Hunt said in a post-match interview.

“Another step forward. Another game Wednesday. Look at the squad tomorrow, prepare Monday and Tuesday and play Wednesday.”

Hunt felt his side were deserving of their three points in the match which saw them jump into eight place in the standings.

“Very disappointed to go 1-0 down.

“I thought we had good opportunities in the first-half. And then we were on the back foot but we kept going. I thought on the evidence of the game we had a lot of opportunities which we didn’t take which has been the story of our season.

“Good determination. Good effort. We deserved something for a change.
