Dorados, a team nicknamed the “Big Fish”, were only formed in 2003. They currently occupy third from bottom in Mexico’s second division, having failed to win a single match in their first six league games.
However, there is still hope that Maradona will turn things in their favour. This is after his arrival was announced on the club’s social media accounts Thursday.
The team released a short video confirming the appointment, along with the caption, “Welcome Diego to the Big Fish!”
Maradona is set to take the lead in the club’s next league game on September 15.
Maradona has maintained a good career, with 34 goals scored in 91 appearances for Argentina. He was also captain of the team that won the 1986 World Cup. This latest job will be his sixth in a management position.
