Johannesburg – Mercedes Benz is recalling almost a million older cars from around the world over faulty brakes.
Around 70,000 of those are in Germany.
The recall is for the SUV ML and GL series and R-series luxury minivans built between 2004 and 2015.
The manufacturer will inspect all vehicles and replace parts if necessary.
It recalled a similar number of cars last year over a safety issue with its emergency call system.
