Johannesburg – Advocate Dali Mpofu denounced the detention of military veterans, calling it unlawful.
The advocate is representing 56 veterans arrested on Thursday night following an alleged hostage incident involving Minister of Defence, Thandi Modise, Minister in the Presidency, Mondli Gungubele and Deputy Minister of Defence, Thabang Makwetla.
Mpofu said the state does not have a case.
The matter had been postponed to Tuesday.
The Liberation Struggle War Veterans Association has slammed the arrest of its members.
