Sister Susan Francois has been saying a daily prayer for US President Donald Trump since 2017.
According to The New York Times, Francois joined the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace in 2005. It was at that time that she became familiar with presidential prayers.
Other nuns would say prayers for US presidents, including George W Bush and Barack Obama, hoping that prayer would help the men show good leadership.
Over the years, Francois stayed abreast of world news and prayed for countries or anyone she thought needed it.
However two years ago, Francois picked a president to shower with the holy message every morning – Donald Trump.
Most of the time, Francois urges the first citizen to be more compassionate.
Inquisitr reported that Francois opted to tweet the official presidential Twitter account, @POTUS, instead of Trump’s personal account, @realDonaldTrump, because official tweets are archived.
She said: “I wanted it to be a record of history that a Catholic sister wanted to tweet a non-violent prayer at the president.”
“It is important for consistency and for history to know that ordinary people didn’t look away.”
Dear @POTUS, on this second Sunday of Advent praying that you choose to follow the light of compassion

Dear @POTUS, 665 days later still praying you experience and understand yourself (and everyone else, even those you disagree with or deem unworthy of respect) as a beloved child of God and act accordingly. This mind/heart shift can be transformative #dailytweet

Dear @POTUS. praying for you but unable to find kind words. I am angry at blatant disrespect & outright violence against human beings seeing refuge at border. I am outraged that partisan politics trump humanity. Good thing Jesus understands righteous anger.
