Johannesburg – Local YouTuber Oabile sent email requests to some of the booking managers of several big South African rappers, pretending to inquire about booking them for a four-song set at a birthday party.
Oabile asked for a quote for a fictitious birthday party that would take place in Sandton. The quote included riders and travel costs, and compiled list of the responses.
According to the YouTuber, Cassper Nyovest is the most expensive hip-hop artist to book at R207 000, vat included, for a 30-minute performance. This amount is R50,000 more than AKA who only charged R150,000.
Nasty C, who is currently making a name for himself in the US with his new collaboration with T.I. quoted only R100,000 for a performance.
Emtee quoted R45,000 while A-Reece charged R55,000. The Kotini King, Riky Rick charges a cool R80,000.
John Cena hitmaker Sho Madjozi does not come cheap either with a quote of R100,000.
According to her management, reality star and socialite Faith Nketsi said she was not taking bookings for performances, only an appearance.
Amapiano performer Kamo Mphela can be booked for R25,000.
