R22 million Eastern Cape ‘stadium’ questioned

Johannesburg – There are question about the price tag for a sports facility in the Eastern Cape.

The Lessyton Sports Facility, near Komani in the Eastern Cape, is surrounded to have cost as much as R22-million.

The Enoch Mgijima local municipality is expected to answer questions about what the money was actually spent on.

“It doesn’t look like the numbers add up. We, as a sports fraternity, care about getting a sports facility that we can play on,” said Eastern Cape Sports Confederation secretary Phumelele Hlathi
