The nation is still trying to come to terms with the passing of renowned actor and former Rhythn City star Jamie Bartlett.
The news of Jamie’s passing first broke on Monday evening.
Jamie starred in many roles throughout his illustrious career but who can forget his popular role as David Genaro in Rhythm City. He received a SAFTA for Best Actor for the role.
His former co-stars on Rhythm City remembered the late thespian.
Nolo Phiri, who starred as Nikki shared her best onscreen moments with him.
“My best moments on screen were with you. What an honour to have worked with you. A true genius. I’m broken Jamie 💔 RIP my friend,” she wrote.
Mduduzi Mabaso, also known as Suffocate, thanked Jamie for his contribution to the film industry. “Eish!!! Umhlaba awudeli. R. I. P king, thank you for being you and thanks for your talent. God bless you,” said Mduduzi.
A heartbroken Mapula Mafole says Jamie was one of the first few actors she encountered on her first day on set. “He made me feel so welcomed. The first thing he said to me was, “And who are you Darling?” from that day on I knew I could always go to him for advice and even a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for your friendship,” she expressed.
Lungile Radu extended his condolences to the Bartlett family and thanked Jamie for always “having his back”.
