SA retain No 5 slot on World Rugby rankings, Gary Gold’s USA at No 13

South Africa’s Springboks  have  maintained the  5th spot when rugby’s latest world rankings were announced on Monday.

The only consolation following their Murrayfield weekend win was that the Boks rose closer to World No 4 England, who are marginally behind the No 3 team Wales.

However, there could be a sudden change on the rankings depending on the results this weekend when England host Australia at Twickenham Stadium, London, and Boks play Wales at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff.

The results could possibly move the Boks up the rankings if they defeat Wales and England go down to the Aussies.

Despite World No 2 Ireland’s win over New Zealand, they couldn’t make the move up to No 1.
