The deputy campaign manager for the Patriotic Front has denied damning allegations by the NDC national youth chairperson.
Bowman Lusambo, the PF’s deputy campaign manager for Roan Constituency, has denied damning allegations by NDC national youth chairperson and deputy campaign manager for Roan by-elections, Charles Kabwita.
The PF has been accused of printing T-shirts with NDC logos on them apparently in an attempt to deceive the Electoral Commission of that country in order to get the party disqualified from the election, the Lusaka Times reported.
Lusambo dismissed the assertions as an “act of desperation” because the NDC was non-existent in Roan Constituency, before urging the NDC to focus on their campaign and explain to potential supporters what the party intended to do for voters instead of making wild, unsubstantiated allegations.
He further stated that contrary to other NDC claims of buying voters support, the PF was short of funds and there was no money to woo voters but only sufficient funds to support development.
Lusambo said he remained confident that the PF would secure Roan due to diligence exercised by the ruling party in securing votes.
The NDC was formed by former information minister Chishimba Kambwili after he was fired from the PF by President Edgar Lungu in 2016.
