Eskom: Load-shedding to continue Thursday

South Africa

Johannesburg – Eskom will continue with load-shedding on Thursday.

The power utility announced that it will continue to implement stage 2 load-shedding from 9am until 10pm as the power system is still extremely strained.

The company started implementing rolling blackouts from Tuesday afternoon.

Eskom says while three generation units have returned to service, a further three units have tripped, two of which have returned.

It says unplanned breakdowns stand at 12,1000MW of capacity adding to the 4,350MW currently out on planned maintenance.

Eskom says the unit at Tutuka still has not returned to service.
