Bathabile Dlamini’s future hangs in the balance

South Africa

Johannesburg – African National Congress (ANC) officials are set to meet Women’s League President Bathabile Dlamini to decide her fate after she was found guilty of perjury.

The party insists it will follow due process in handling her matter.

Dlamini was convicted earlier this month for allegedly giving false evidence during an inquiry.

However, the ANC says she will not be pushed out of the party just yet.

It said its national officials have been appointed to meet with Dlamini.

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on the party’s leaders who are involved in or have been found guilty of malfeasance to step aside.
