Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has admitted that Keagan Dolly will bring in a different dimension to how the team plays now that he has signed.
Dolly joined Chiefs on a free transfer last week, and while he hasn’t kicked a ball in a competition match in months, Baxter said the left-footer is still a talent.
“Definitely. Keagan is a national player. He’s a player who’s moved abroad, he’s undoubtedly a talent,” said Baxter.
“And he’s a good lad. So, I think he’ll be wanting to get into shape as quickly as he can, and get on the field as quickly as he can,” he said.
Baxter said getting Dolly is definitely a statement of intent on the part of the part of the club to bring the old glory days after going six years without a major trophy.
He added that AmaKhosi could have opted a cheaper option than Dolly but revealed the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger also wanted the move to Naturena.
And the fact that Chiefs made it happen is no doubt a good message for the millions of the club supporters, said Baxter.
“It does send out a message because Keagan wanted to come to us, and we could have ducked it and we could have gone for a cheaper or more obscure option,” he added.
“But we didn’t dodge it, and I think that’s a good message for the Chiefs fans,” concluded Baxter.
