Free State Rugby has announced contract extensions of several Cheetahs stalwarts as well as the arrival of some new faces.
The players who have extended their contracts with the franchise are hooker Louis van der Westhuizen, lock Victor Sekete, and loose forwards Gideon van der Merwe and Jeandre Rudolph.
Meanwhile, Friedle Olivier will be joining the Cheetahs in July from Enisei-STM in the Russian Rugby Premier League.
Olivier, whose regular position is No8 but who can also play as a flanker or a lock, has signed a two-year contract. Lastly former Cheetahs player Hencus van Wyk is also making a comeback to the Free State Cheetahs in July following a stint with San Diego Legion in the USA.
The Cheetahs are currently atop the Currie Cup standings after a perfect six wins from six matches played this season.
They have a bye in Wednesday, 6 April’s round of matches and will next be in action when they travel to Cape Town to face Western Province on Good Friday, April 15.
