South Africa

Gqeberha – Police have launched an investigation into the torching of eight passenger buses in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

This comes amid continuing protests by angry taxi operators.

They are claiming their associations have robbed them of Ters funding.

Several schools and malls in the metro have had to shut down since the beginning of the protest on Tuesday.

Taxi operators in Gqeberha said their protest could continue for the remainder of the week.
