Cape Town City have confirmed the re-appointment of Eric Tinkler as coach of the Citizens.
Tinkler will take over following the quick exit of Jan Olde Riekerink.
Cape Town City confirmed Riekerink’s departure last Friday after placing him under administrative leave two weeks prior due to a string of poor results.

“This has always been one of my favourite stadiums, I was part of the beginnings of the club, its first season and it ended up being a fantastic season,” said Tinkler.
“That will always stay in memory for a very long time. Now obviously the task has to be greater, I’m Eric Tinkler and I’m City FC.”
Tinkler has won the Telkom Knockout In his first stint with City before moving to SuperSport United in 2017, where he won the MTN8 – prior to stints with Chippa United and Maritzburg United.
The 50-year-old played 45 matches for Bafana Bafana.

The Citizens are currently seventh in the DStv Premiership standings and all-but assured of a top 8 finish this season with two matches remaining.
Their next match will be against bottom side Black Leopards on Wednesday, 2 June and wrap up their campaign away to champions-elect Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 5 June.
