Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt said he is pleased that his team were able to see out the second leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg clash away against Simba SC in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday.
Despite a 3-0 loss, Kaizer Chiefs’ 4-0 win in the first leg was enough to see Amakhosi through to the last four of the tournament for the first time in the club’s history.

It is also the furthest that Gavin Hunt has progressed in African club competition.
A relieved Hunt commented after the game on the fact that his charges managed to get the job done and got over the line.
“It was difficult on Saturday, but we got through,” said Hunt.
“The most important thing was knowing that we had to play two legs. It was important for us to dig in.”

Chiefs managed to hold out in Dar es Salaam where they were playing in front of a crowd of 10,000 fans, until the 24th minute mark when they conceded the first goal.
“There was no danger for almost 24-25 minutes. They scored and then got a second one which made it a little bit difficult. They got a third and we defended for the last bit of time,” Gavin Hunt added.
“They were the home team,” he explained.
