Hulisani “CC” Ravele slams Gareth Cliff’s open letter

Johannesburg – Radio personality Hulisani CC Ravele has added her voice to the wave of outrage over the open letter written by radio host and businessman Gareth Cliff about lockdown level 4 regulations.

In the letter Cliff claimed South Africans’ “patience and emotional state of affairs are on a knife-edge” and they are “losing hope”

He added that regulations has to both make sense and gain the confidence of the public, and warned that not doing so could end in disaster.

His comments sparked a lot of outrage from the public, including radio star Hulisani Ravele who said that the lockdown was necessary.

“I don’t know why listening to Gareth Cliff’s clip made me cry. It’s a pity privilege is a disease you cannot die from. Lockdown was never going to be easy or comfortable, it was a necessity. It was never going to be perfect either (not the brutality because that’s just wrong,” Ravele said in a Twitter post.

Other media personalities like SizweDlomo and Bridget Masinga also voiced out their disapproval of Cliff’s comments.
