Three matches into the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season and leading South African bookmakers are ready to crown Mamelodi Sundowns as champions.
While there was no doubt that Sundays would be a team to beat -again – this time around, the Tshwane giants have got off to an impressive start by beating two of their rivals to date.
Sundowns kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over last season’s runners-up, AmaZulu, before being held to a goalless draw with Chippa United in Gqeberha.
The Brazilians followed up with a 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday to move to the top of the standings.
Sundowns are gunning for their 12th PSL title in only the 26th season of the top-flight in South Africa.
