Johannesburg – SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has showered captain and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams with praise following his latest achievement in the club’s colours.
Williams recently became the first PSL footballer to play 100 consecutive matches in the modern era, and for Tembo, Williams has demonstrated exactly how a SuperSport player should be about.
Tembo believes younger players within the Matsatsantsa set-up can learn from the South Africa international, who was in top form in SuperSport’s 1-1 draw against Swallows FC last weekend.

“Ronwen Williams is the true reflection of a SuperSport United player‚” said Kaitano.
“I’ve known him since he arrived at the club when I was still playing… it was towards the end of my playing career.”
“I ended up also coaching him at the academy and at Under 17. I think we use Ronwen as a guide to the younger players from the academy to the first team.

“He’s a true reflection of what we expect from a SuperSport United player; someone who’s very committed‚ someone who’s very hungry‚ and you can see he still wants to play and wants to achieve. He still wants to win trophies with the club and a lot of younger players can learn a lot from him,” added Tembo.
