Keabetswe Jan praised for using Twitter to help unemployed graduates

Hundreds of responses came from qualified youths, who lamented the lack of employment opportunities – regardless of being qualified – as their biggest worry.

With the help of a friend, Jan looked up job openings in different fields to share on Twitter, in the hope that it would change someone’s life for the better.

“We took pictures of job posts and some of them were sent directly to me by my Facebook followers. We compiled them to share with those in need,” she said.

Due to the high levels of unemployment I’ve come across, I’ve decided to compile vacancies, internships, learnerships etc, into a thread and hope this gets to those that really need it.

She added that it was important for her to use Twitter as a platform to spread positivity and kindness.

“My attitude is, if I don’t do it, then who will? I know what it’s like to be in some of those situations and so I want people to be kind to one another.”
