Mop-up operations underway in Cape Town after floods

There’s been heavy overnight flooding in some parts of the Western Cape.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms have also been forecast for Wednesday.

Mop up operations are underway in Cape Town.

The city’s disaster risk management centre says around 3,000 people have been displaced.

Spokesperson, Mandy Thomas told eNCA there were also cases of power outages and road closures.

“Mop-up operations are underway and we expect more rain later on Wednesday. We want people to stay safe and to make sure they are properly prepared.”
