South Africans are so excited about the nation’s upcoming public holiday that they have already started showing off their cultural best. Various locals took to social media to share images of themselves, their children and strangers in traditional attire from their respective cultures ahead of Heritage Day. Heritage Day gives locals a chance to show off what they love most about their traditional attire.
Heritage Day was originally known as Shaka Day, the annual holiday gives locals the chance to celebrate their culture and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions. It is celebrated on the 24th of September every year.
