Pilots’ Association heading to court

South Africa

Johannesburg – SAA pilots are heading to court on Thursday.

The SAA Pilots’ Association is seeking an urgent application from the Labour Court to stop the carrier from using replacement labour.

Members of the association have been locked out since 18 December.

They want the lockout to be declared unlawful.

The pilots’ association says it will stop the strike immediately if this is done.

The union is also calling for salaries owed to striking pilots from before the commencement of the lockout to be paid.
