A prominent lawyer in Cape Town was shot dead outside a private school in Green Point while dropping his children off on Tuesday morning.
Unverified reports said his son was also injured in the shooting.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said police would release a statement shortly.
Mr Mihalik has always maintained to me that he has represented suspects from various "factions" as he does not choose sides. He also said he was trying to maintain peace. If true, in doing so, he has been assassinated.
