Johannesburg – The Public Protector has found that the appointment of former journalist Ranjeni Munusamy at National Treasury was above board.

Former Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni was accused of irregularly hiring Munusamy as a community outreach officer in his department.
Last October, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s Floyd Shivhambu lodged a complaint with the Public Protector’s office, alleging that Mboweni violated the Executive Ethics Code.

Shivhambu also questioned the appointment seeing as Munusamy had been named at the State Capture Inquiry.
