Ramaphosa to announce cabinet reshuffle

President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to announce changes to the cabinet at 3pm on Thursday. Two ministerial posts are vacant, Environmental Affairs and Home Affairs.

Malusi Gigaba  stepped down as Home Affairs minister, saying he quit after a long period of continuous public attacks on his integrity.

Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa passed away in September this year after suffering from a short illness while on an official trip to China.

President Ramaphosa addressed the National Council of Provinces, sitting in Ekurhuleni. His address concludes a week-long NCOP Taking Parliament to the People programme.

Here, he acknowledged the failures of government and added that it’s not meeting citizens’ expectations in a number of areas.
