SAHPRA approves J&J jab as effective second dose or booster shot

South Africa

Johannesburg – The South African Health Products Authority has approved the Johnson & Johnson jab as an effective second dose or booster shot.

SAHPRA has recommended a second dose at least two months after the first injection.

It also says that the second shot is effective as a follow-up to other approved vaccines.

The J&J jab is a popular vaccine in Africa because of its single-shot effectiveness. It also doesn’t require ultra-cold storage like other vaccines.
