Zim economic crisis ‘under control’: officials

Business

The Zimbabwean government says it has managed to control the economic crisis in the country.

Claims made by officials indicated that it was simply a case of businesses and locals panicking after the introduction of a new two-percent tax on all electronic transactions.  Which in-turn resulted in major fuel and cash shortages and basic food items, which are also in short supply.

However, Zimbabwe’s Deputy Information Minister said the situation is now under control.
