Johannesburg – Sibanye-Stillwater CEO, Neal Froneman says the company will contribute R200-million to government’s Covid-19 vaccination procurement programme.
“I’ve got in-principal approval from our board to commit approximately R200-million, that’s what we think our company can contribute to the procurement of vaccines,” he said.
Meanwhile, Froneman says he does not believe the government is ready to ensure everyone is vaccinated.
The Sibanye CEO has called for business the programme.
“Government is really not well positioned or ready to do this, I just wish business could procure the vaccines directly and we would expedite that process,” added Froneman.
