Holomisa calls for Mkhize to step down

South Africa

Johannesburg – United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa wants Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize to resign immediately.

Mkhize is facing a lot of pressure after it came to light that his department awarded a contract irregularly.

“If the balance of probability is sufficient enough, he should go, resign immediately. We don’t know the policy of step aside when a politician serves in a government institution or he is a cabinet minister,” said Holomisa.

“So he should resign immediately because it looks like the money and Zweli Mkhize are following each other.”

The money that Holomisa refers to is the R150-million contract that went to Digital Vibes, which is owned by Mkhize’s alleged associates.

It is alleged that the company received millions of rand for scheduling Mkhize’s media briefings on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
