Johannesburg – Relief efforts are continuing in KwaZulu-Natal.
The death toll has risen to 448 and many are still missing.
KZN CoGTA MEC Sipho Hlomuka said the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

He’s hoping a preliminary report will be released before the end of this week.
“So far the damage is more than a billion but we have not yet finalised the assessment,” said Hlomuka.

“Before the end of this week, we will have a draft report of the assessment because we want to have an informed report on the basis of the assessment that is done by the engineers.”
