Johannesburg – Beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase was left infuriated by an explosive DM from an undisclosed Instagram user who warned her that she could lose gigs if she continues her being vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement.
Ndamase responded with an even more fiery response saying she will not be silenced about the injustice just for the sake of not ‘fumbling the bag’.
“I don’t think it’s wise for you to be so vocal during this time… Don’t jeopardize your future and what you mean to us as black people just because of what’s going on right now… please be careful,” read part of the message from the Instagram user.
“I will not be silent about the killing of my people. Where one door closes, many will open so if any brand does not want to be associated with me after this so be it at least I will lose a ‘bag’ knowing I wasn’t silent during this time because silence will not protect us,” replied Ndamase.
She added by saying she does not want to be associated with a brand that does not support black people in their quest to find justice.
