Mxolisi Sizonyana has been elected as the new mayor for the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality.
The Metro was the only municipality in the province without a mayor for a year following the ousting of Olly Mlamleli.
Mlamleli was removed in August last year after a vote of no-confidence against her. She is also accused in the multi-million-rand Free State asbestos tender case with suspended ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule.
