Johannesburg – Power has been restored to all parts of the Johannesburg CBD.
Electricity was cut off the area after an underground tunnel fire. The CBD was plunged into darkness last Monday after the fire tripped lines to the Central substation.
It affected the entire CBD and industrial areas east of the city.
While power was restored to most users by the end of the last week, rain disrupted efforts to complete repairs over the weekend.
City Power says teams have been working around the clock to ensure every customer has electricity.
The City says its investigations into the fire are at an advanced stage and hopes to have a report soon.
