Ramaphosa to answer Scopa questions on funding

South Africa

Johannesburg – President Cyril Ramaphosa has been given 10 working days to respond to questions from Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

The matter relates to a leaked audio clip where Ramaphosa allegedly admits to using public funds for party activities.

Following receipt of his response, the committee will decide whether it’s necessary for Ramaphosa to answer additional questions.

The office of Public Prosecutor Busisiwe Mkhwebane on Thursday said they received a complaint from a Member of Parliament alleging that Ramaphosa breached the executive code of ethics.

It said an investigation must be done within 30 days.
