Stuart Baxter felt that the PSL’s highest-paid was off the pace and seemed to not be at his best for Kaizer Chiefs against Royal AM this past weekend.
Keagan Dolly is officially the highest-paid player in the DStv Premiership, earning a staggering R1.45 million per month.
The former Montpellier star has certainly shown glimpses of what he is capable of, especially, when linking with former Mamelodi Sundowns teammate Khama Billiat.
According to the official KickOff website, Baxter said: “I think when you have been out for a long time like Keagan, I think it is quite normal that once you get back you push and push and when you are back you sort of breath out a little bit”.
Baxter believes that his Amakhosi star can offer so much more.
He is getting back into the high intensity of regular top-flight football and so it is understandable. Dolly is adapting to the high demand of regular football and will only get better.
“I think he may have had that little breath out tonight. He has to regroup. He has to reassess himself. I didn’t think he was bad, but I just thought he was off the pace and off his best. He showed some flashes of his quality which is undoubted but can affect the game a lot more,” said Baxter.
